First of all, what is a trend? Is it simply a cycle of change in interest and direction over time? These days with technological advances and instant communication, everything from products to environments is changing faster than ever. As a result it is getting increasingly difficult to sort out "what's best for me".

The keyword to that question is "me". It is most important to have it your way. These days we tend to make more money but have less time. Customization is an issue that sometimes brings more difficulty than the comfort it provides. We are tired of making too many choices. Did you ever walk in to a Starbucks and want to try something new? Did you know that there are over 19.000 choices for a single cup of coffee?

When it comes to our home, we all want to make a statement. Our home is the reflection of our character and lifestyle. We do not want to compromise comfort or style.

Allow us to give you a little secret. These days, the biggest trend is FUSION, also know as NEW ECLECTIC. What is FUSION? It is simply mixing elements that belong to different eras, cultures, and styles. Be brave when it comes to creating the mix.

You will notice that our collection offers a distinctly sophisticated modern and contemporary look. Every single piece is carefully chosen to work well together in harmony. However we have more to say. Having a modern furniture piece next to an antique, or neo-classic has never been more acceptable.

You may use your past experiences as a source of essence. Places you have been, cultures you have lived in or were influenced by.

Some tips from our president:

Our collection is put together to appeal to the metropolitan, style conscientious crowd that enjoys living the dynamism the city at its utter most. Most of our select clients will be living in condominiums where they need to make the most out of their smaller scale living space.

Using neutral tones for walls and other large scale planes will bring a sense of more space. This sense of more space can be further achieved using large mirrors as decorative elements. You may want to introduce color through an accent wall or accessories which are easier to replace for future modifications as it is natural to change tastes every five years. For choice of color, these days bright colors such as greens and blues are very trendy.

Having a natural look will always be a good choice. Patterns and textures along with the appropriate lighting will provide a three dimensional richness. I would suggest that you use accent lighting to illuminate certain pieces that are your favorites.

When it comes to wood stains, wenge or espresso is very convenient. The best part about this dark wood stain is that it is very easy to match pieces from different manufacturers. Some wood stains such as cherry may be a nightmare if you want the exact same color for chairs and tables from different suppliers. In that case I would suggest having them way off rather than close, but not the same.

Do you need to make a choice between spending less on large furniture pieces or smaller accessories - one room or the whole space?

I would suggest you to make your choice towards large furniture pieces over accessories. A sofa or a lounge chair will be an investment which you will want to use for a longer period of time whereas accessories may be gradually replaced over a period of time.

When it comes to improving one room or the whole space, I would suggest you focus on your favorite spaces. Do it right the first time. During my MBA studies, I was thaught that a cheap solution will be the most expensive solution over a period of time. I have seen this outcome in many aspects of my professional life. I suggest all my select clients to focus their assetes on their priorities. Investing heavily on your favorite space and spending less on others will give you more comfort and joy in that space. Later when you feel more comfortable and want to make other changes, focus on your next favorite space. Do not try to change everything at once. This may lead to frustration. Improving your living space should be a joyful journey, not a destination.

Last suggestion is not to compromise style over comfort or visa versa. The great architect Frank Lloyd Wright once stated "Form follows function - that has been misunderstood. Form and function should be one."

Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestions. Should you need further assistance please do not hesitate to email us. If you beileve you need professional assistance, we will be glad to lead you to one of our partner interior design specialists in your area.
